8-Foot Giant Catfish Caught in Cambodia

Captured just before midnight on November 13 by fishers in Cambodia, this Mekong giant catfish is 8 feet long (2.4 meters long) ands weighs 450 pounds (204 kilograms).

Giant catfish were once plentiful throughout Southeast Asia's Mekong River watershed, including the Tonle Sap River—home of the fish in these exclusive pictures taken near Phnom Penh.

In the last century the Mekong giant catfish population has declined by 95 to 99 percent, scientists say. Only a few hundred adult giant catfish may remain.

After collecting data on the fish, it was released unharmed.

Cat, 26, could be record breaker

A 26-year-old domestic cat from Shropshire could be one of the oldest in the UK.

Pussywillow lives in Ratlinghope and is still "sharp in her mind and her eyes", according to owner Lin Brown.

The black cat, who now enjoys curling up by the stove, lived off animals she caught herself until she was 22, Ms Brown said.

Healthy cats can normally live to about 18, with previous world record holders only reaching their early 20s.

Cat survives 19 days with peanut butter jar on head

For the past three years, Tabitha Cain has fed the six feral cats that roam near her family's Bartlett, TN home.

Only Wild Oats refused to be touched.

That wasn't a problem until she showed up Nov. 10 with a peanut butter jar stuck on her head. The cat eluded capture for more than a week.

Finally, dehydrated and exhausted, the once chubby cat was now too thin and too weak to escape. With fishing net in hand, they finally caught her. They used oil to remove her head from the jar, gave her water, treated her wounds and confined her in a cage.

'Mummy' yields rock-solid info on dinosaurs

One of the most complete dinosaur mummies ever found is revealing secrets locked away for millions of years, bringing researchers as close as they will ever get to touching a live dino.

The fossilized duckbilled hadrosaur is so well preserved that scientists have been able to calculate its muscle mass and learn that it was more muscular than thought, probably giving it the ability to outrun predators such as T. rex.

While they call it a mummy, the dinosaur is not really preserved like King Tut was. The dinosaur body has been fossilized into stone. Unlike the collections of bones found in museums, this hadrosaur came complete with skin, ligaments, tendons and possibly some internal organs, according to researchers.

Know any hunters?

We all have at least one friend who lives for hunting season, right?
Short of firearms and camo clothing items, it might be a challenge to find suitable gifts for the hunters on your gift list.

Here's some ideas:

Deer Rider

This unique novelty item is motion activated, or can be triggered from a button on the hood that starts the smiles and toe tapping. When actuated, the vehicle bounces, headlights flash and the deer raises its head to sing "Low Rider" and "Sweet Home Alabama", while the driver's and hunter's heads gyrate to the music. Two bolt-action rifles, a cooler, full camo hunting clothes and a Cabela's logo emblazoned on each door add a touch of realism.
